In 2000 she left prosecuting and commenced practice as a Criminal Defence Lawyer and has worked solely in the area of Traffic and Criminal law ever since. Michelle worked for two legal firms as their Criminal and Traffic lawyer for about 6 years before becoming a partner in a highly regarded firm of Crawford and Duncan Lawyers for over 20 Years until recently moving to Duncan Criminal Law as the Principal/Director of the practice.

Throughout her career as a defence lawyer Michelle has appeared on behalf of thousands of accused persons in both the Local, District and Supreme Courts as well as the High Court of Australia. She has also appeared on behalf of clients in various commissions such as NCAT, ICAC and the Crime Commission.
